Markaz or Marx, which way will the Kerala govt go?

Posted in India, Kerala, politics by clash on August 24, 2007

An interesting note : A Muslim group on Wednesday opposed the practice of making boys and girls sit next to each other according to alphabetic order during an ongoing quarterly examination in schools in Kerala, and threatened to launch a State-wide agitation if it was not stopped immediately.

Probably, Kerala will be the only state in India where Muslims have a high literacy rate. Malappuram, the Muslim dominated district has received many accolades for their “successful literacy eradication programmes”. But these efforts are in vain when Muslim organizations like Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) come out with demands like these. They cant abuse a more or less secular education system which prevail in this state. They  can impose these draconian ideals in their madrassas ; not definitely in our schools.

They claim:

” ‘mixing of genders’ at the school-level would arouse sexual passion among the children, he said the federation would persuade parents to withdraw their children from the schools if the practice continued “

I presume the SKSSF leaders and members are on complete medication to prevent this contagious air-borne disease “sexual passion”. If the rule is to be applied in schools, they are a troubled lot.  In buses ,public spaces, and home, they definitely are troubled by this disease – sexual passion. In an era, where we claim to be enlightened, we come across these lumpen elements, who prescribe ideals, which are more or less guided by their thoughts. If they feel “making boys and girls to sit together will set in an unhealthy trend”, it is because their thoughts work so and probably some of their actions too. They expect future class rooms to be theaters of orgy or simply  fantasize this.

The present CPIM government might even succumb to this, They are more aligned to Markaz ( a Sunni organisation) than to Marx.

well, i would say i won’t be surprised if this happened in Saudi or somewhere else in the middle east. mind you, there are some very open minded muslim countries out there as well, but this is absolute crap to even contemplate such an idea in a secular coutry.
it not only tarnishes the states image but the image of the country as a whole. if the government of kerala was any sensible they would discredit such an idea immediately!!

    its simply nonsense!!

Nice work.. muslim communities go a way too much with their gender issues. I couldnt put my thoughts in better words than wat you just did… I loved it… To treat sexual passion as a disease or a taboo, when it actually is a natural phenomenon that sustains life (even if most ppl don’t see it with that much philosophy), is too much… N i dont think young Keralite brains need to be tarnished with this load o crap!

SKSSF and those ilks are bane too muslims in Kerala, who are pretty much liberal and well educated compared to their ilks in other parts of India..
