Is this the answer for all the wars waged?

Posted in Banksy, Robert Fisk, Vietnam, War by clash on October 13, 2006

I have seen innumerable pictures which belt out a message. Anti-war, anti- , anti- what not. This picture was revelation. I was struck and withered by its crude sarcasam and an abject message that it conveys. A picture says it all. Some of them answer the questions and unsolved riddles in you and that is what exactly this master-piece from Banksy did to me. IIt was an answer for all the wars waged and it conveyed a message that could have only conveyed by a 100,000 street protesters against the war.

They Carpet-Bombed, sprayed Napalm and Agent Orange. My family is gone, homeless; I am naked on the road. Oh… so what, I am guided by Mickey and Mac. I know my brothers-to-be-born, will have contortions which are unscalable, but what I am running naked on the road and is guided by Mickey and Mac. I will have amusement parks and burgers, what if my Mother and Father is gone?

In this Age of terror as Robert Fisk calls it, this picture with its sublime colours reveals the real flesh of the war. It is not Hamas, It is not Hezbollah, It is not Taliban, It is not the puny North Korean WMD, It is not Communists. It is Mickey and Mac which is making me run.

What if my brothers-to-be-born have contortions?
So what, if I have lost my family and home?
So what??

I have Mickey and Mac.

Kudos to Banksy that he kindled my senses and re-affirmed the answers to my questions. Lets watch more of him before he gets illusioned by the lucrative packages that has been offered to him to sketch the bill-boards of Nike and so on.

Lets us praise this Anonymous Graffiti maker from Bristol.

Amazing post, comrade. That is a highly disturbing picture, one that may not only be applicable to Vietnam. Children are forced to work and put in life-threatening conditions every day by the likes of McDonalds, Nike, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, and other unethical big businesses.

    Very heart-wrenching. Good post.

Never will this end till we all here in earth. May be one side we will be on the recieving side sometime we will be in giving side- i was going throuhg some history of past and found a contrary theory on ” indians never waged war on other countries” but – i found lot of debris of indian culture into south east asian countries and all the remains of indian why especially tamil culture in the lands embroid with the locals. influence of war too..

World…this is world….it has been like this for yrs …and will be like this …coz …human beings are Just pleasure seekers when their basic needs are satisfied…and they never bother for outside their homes…Man is a social animal…BULL SHIT!!! Society is just a fake concept…World is in the hands of those who have Power to rule…those who are weak…who don’t have MANAGEMENT GURUZ or OIL WEALTH…just vanish from this world…and we will see the world shrinking…shrinking…to just a few….

No more is the role of these big business a matter of concern and tragedy. Our attitude and lack of commitment towards building a better world are.
