Time passes,as leaves shed from their parent trees, souls leave earth.. so was O.V.vijayan. the story teller of malyalam who revolutionised malayalam litreature, who with his single novel kazakhinte ethihaasam created a clear demarcation in malayalam litreature “post kazakh” and “pre kazakh”. a novel that was discussed and disected by the mallu intellectuals over and over again! A novel which kindled a late night discussion in the courtyards of my house and some of my fathers friends leaving the house in the wee hours of night coz of a difference of and opinion that cropped up :)- (stories, they do wonders at times!!)
Gone is gone! its pretty sad and awkward to tell that i have never read any books of O.V.Vijayan, though i knew he was a stalwart. My attepmts of reading kazakh ended up me sleeping over the book coz of the local dialect used in the book and my difficulty in deciphering malayalam.( not a sayippu though.. i was always bad at reading and writing malayalam).Anyway i got to grab that book again .. which, very soon i will be doing. oh… i forgot something.. i have read a bit of “dharmapuranam” ( the essential pages, u know!!)

back from college, vendors are on a strike(V.A.T V.A.T ) .. all kinda supplies are low.. thats y u call it beedi times! “welcome to the beedi country” :)-

inspirational music: cold play – scientist
eminem – superman (“dont touch, what u cant grab”!) :)-
snoop dog,

    hi unni
this is praveen, same problem here- can’t sign up.
I had read khazak once but didnt
    even understand the climax.
I had a similiar experince when reading 100 yrs of solitude, didnt finish it.I dont know why these books are called great, those which a commoner cant enjoy.May be i’ll understand it some time later.
I dont whether its right to say that
he is the malayali Marquez.May be he is as great as Marquez.

he is a stalwart, but not a marquez for certain! and when marquez tells that he re-edited 100 yrs of solitude around 200 times, its obvious that it will take lil time to understand that.. if you check out the book called “the autumn of the patriarch” by marquez, we might yell out, marquez is worthless! but it takes time to understand things… lets hope for the best, that we will get there… i mean the point where we understand all of these :)-
