Another sultry afternoon: with my eyes drooping and with usual complacency, for which im often criticised, im sitting in front of my computer. For the past 2 days the “atmosphere” in home is not warm enough coz a kitten which is being grown in my home is not well. i like them, i pity those creatures which cannot communicate like us.. so its basically a big struggle for them, moaning and groaning and we understand something out off all these.. rather we dont at all….

An escapade was planned .. so i resorted to ALFRED KUBIN’S ” the otherside” . page by page i was being sucked in to a cauldron of weird imagination… that at times offered a light and pleasing situation and at times carrying you in to grotesque and crass situations…. the novel was written in 1940’s, its about a dream kingdom made some where in asia by a german and people from all over being invited to live over there, they have a barber who is a philosopher too , he has a monkey who in the end takes over the barber’s work coz the barber was not getting enough time to propogate his philosophy and many more characters and instances of immense imagination…. and in the end a “rich american” descends in the dream kingdom. thats it.. the dream kingdom which was flourishing, degrades… it gets destroyed in the worst manner!! “the american effect” … boundless imagination thats what u can term all these….. i have not finished it yet.. i dont know.. how im gonna devour the whole thing… the illustrations by the author itself, partly pushes your limits to kind of insanity.

listening to rabbi.. this sardar rocks!! really really!! i think im not philiosophically charged up.. next book, im planning to keep my hand on.. is “the age of reason” by sartre or “enjoy your symptom” by slavoj zizek.. lemme try out.. can philosophy be my cuppa coffee.. nonchalant:- the life goes on…

    Since the thread pertains to
    deeply intriguing fiction,
    I would recommend Aldous
    Huxley’s Brave New World.
    Written in the sixties, the
    novel in an extremely
sardonic fashion talks about an era where humans are produced
    in hatcheries and graded from
    alpha to zeta depending on
    how their embryos are

the content of the book that u r talking abt reminds me of the early stages of imperialism. then, i think the best books that were written was by shakespeare. most of his plays had the tinge of imperialistic aspirations and colonial jealousies hidden in it. othello is the best example…merchant of venice!!! any doubts on that??? and mr. romance kumaran will be charged for defamation of a poor communist!!! bum bum is not a shweet cutie name! and neither is the person who named him a little red riding hood!!!

yeah.. aldous huxley roused my interest after hearing about our so called god “jim morrison” naming his band “the doors”, a kinda concept or something put forward by huxley. then our very own dappan kuthu ironmaidens song “the brave new world”. lots to read… and abt shakepeare. i never had the courage to read anything by him. i have seen the complete works of him lying in my home.. but never had the intution to take it and plunge in to it.. may be… later in life.. “may be”… but i have seen the movie “othello”, but that was long long ago.. and i was not matured enough to figure out the underlying imperialistic aspirations!! :)-

hey interview.. thats great!! all the best :)-
