banglore diary…..

Posted in Uncategorized by clash on January 19, 2005

Even though i landed in b’lore with a running nose, the lions share of my stay over there was fun.As usual it was fun coz of my friend zaki.fortunately or unfortunately, i was travellin in his car most of the time.By god’s grace im back in my home , i think. Hey im not making fun of his expertise on car but its all about the troublesome traffic in b’lore (as he says) and not to forget we just got rammed by a speeding auto near kabab magic. swear, the front part of that new car including zaki would have been squashed by that auto. a chill went down my spine.

In our usual chit chat sessions , we somehow were talkin about france.I was talking about the soccer star Zidan and told that his first name zinedane if translated to mallu is “sainuddin” as always Mr.zak pops up a question “you mean he is a mallu” :)- the stay has to be fun rite?? He was so confused while drivin us up to christ college, but i have never heard of people sweatin it out in a car with A/C because of traffic. :)- but above all this , a great thanks to him for driving us up to christ and back.

Dichotomy :- i understood the meaning of this word very much this time when i was in b’lore. there are 2 instances realted to this:

1st : when my friend told that, when he went up to a dj in a pub out there in b’lore coz he wanted him to play some metallica track, the answer was that they dont play metallica coz they are too commercialised. b’lore * commercialisation. sorry i cant get the equation right.

2nd:- i was waiting outside my friends house, i hear a melifluously sang poem from the near by house. it was sounding so good that, i thought of strolling a little bit to find out who exactly is singing this. to my surpsrise i found that an old man was singing this as a lullaby for his grand or great grand child whom he was trying to make asleep. some how i was disturbed by this scene with a thought that in a decade or may be in 2 decades we will lose a generation that maintained a close realtionship with our culture and ways of living and was sure that kids born will be sleeping to the honking of cars or the beats of some crap remixes. Lets hope that our lullaby’s wont turn out to be songs of Marlyn mansion and pantera!! again banglore and lullabies.. again equations goin wrong here too……

if u can find a properly talking mallu girl out here in this hell of a city “bangalore” i guess u can get used to this thing about lullabies and honking of cars! true that that age, is gone and history, but maybe wish for a brighter tomorrow. a brighter future!
